LLMajors competition has had a makeover - info night

Dear potential Little League Major Parents,

Our 2017, 2018 baseball season fast approaches, this year’s Little league majors competition has had a makeover.

As most are aware the Little League major division is the largest and most competitive division across the Northern Beaches and Baseball NSW.

The main reason for this is the alignment of Baseball Australia with the "Little League World Series in the U.S".

With the number of teams increasing in this division the, Manly district Baseball association has decided to change the format for this upcoming season to accommodate both players which want to play competitive (rep) and non-competitive players.

Age Bracket Affected

LL Major Competition will be open to League true Age 10-12 year olds. So this affects kids that have their DOB in the range of 1st May 2005 to August 31st 2008

Change 1.
The little league Majors competitive competition will be played on Wednesday evenings at Aquatic for 12 weeks (Times to be advised)

Change 2
This division will be a draft format (no club teams) where children will be placed on teams by selectors and coaches (Attendees will be selectors and Coaches only)

Change 3
All clubs will be establishing a hybrid? intermediate competition played on Saturdays that will allow both competitive LL Majors and non-competitive LL Majors  to play club level in an "A" division or "B" division

Change 4
Only children playing on the Wednesday LL Major night are eligible to play reps in the LL Major division, if your child wishes only to play in the Saturday intermediate "A" comp they will be eligible to trial with the Intermediate rep teams BUT not LL Major reps.

Change 5
Registrations will go through the Warringah club, and an additional $25 for those children playing in Wednesday evenings to cover off an additional team shirt. We will be in contact for the payment once allocation has taken place.

Can a child playing intermediate A (just that not Wednesday nights) trial for minors IF they are league age 11?
NO.  If a child wants to trial for LL Minors, they must play in LL Minors or the Wednesday LL Majors.  If they play in the LL Majors, they can also play in the Eagles league, but not the LL Minors.

Also a child who is league age 13, playing Intermediate A can trial for Intermediate or JL?
YES.  This hasn't changed this year.  If the 13 year old plays in the Eagles league they cannot trial for any rep team.

Please note we are hosting an information night, as there are plenty of questions that you will have and there is still more details to come out see draft below.
