Juniors – Age Matrix
Baseball NSW (BNSW) competitions are based around a child’s League Age, which is determined by a player’s date of birth. Use the table below to work out a child’s league age and which divisions they are able to play in. (The full BNSW league age matrix is published here)
Please note: there is some flexibility in allowing players to play up or down an age level to suit ability.
T-Ball
Tee Ball teaches players the basic concepts of the game, with Outs enforced, teams swapping between batting and fielding after three outs per side, or after 6 runs are scored.
Game times 10:30 Saturday (1.5hr approx)
Zooka machine pitch
Zooka is the progression on from Tee Ball, where players hit a moving ball. The balls a pitched by a Zooka machine.
Game Time 8:15 Saturday
Little League Minor
Little League Minor(LLmi) represents the players’ first introduction to real live pitched baseball. Players are introduced to pitching and playing with balls and equipment similar to what they will encounter in their adult baseball careers. Beyond LLmi the player progresses to larger fields and slightly modified rules, with each step becoming closer to playing to adult rules of baseball.
